Filipinos who
intend to work in Iran should know that the Islamic Republic of Iran
does not accept foreign household service workers.
Foreign
nationals who work illegally in Iran will be fined IR 300,000 or
equivalent to US$ 30.00 for each day of overstay in the country.
Filipino
household service workers enter Iran from Dubai with a tourist visa holding
on to the promise of the Iranian employer or recruiting agent that
the working permit will be processed in Tehran.
Since the
Government of Iran does not allow foreign household service workers, they
will surely end up as illegal workers.
Filipinos are
advised to be vigilant and on guard when in receipt of similar job
offers in Iran.
Travel to
Kish Island and Other Exit Points
09 January 2009-Filipinos intending
to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on tourist visas are informed that once their visas expire, it would not be advisable
for them to travel to Kish islands and other nearby exit points.
At present,
Filipinos there find it extremely difficult to obtain new visas for
re-entry into the UAE, resulting in their being stranded there well
beyond their intended period of stay incurring excessive subsistence
and lodging expenses. While this situation persists, Filipinos with
tourist visas in the UAE are now being enjoined to go home once
their visas expire, and to apply for new visas in the Philippines if
they wish to go back to the UAE.
