PHILIPPINE PARTICIPATES IN ASEAN LADIES
CIRCLE BAZAAR 2008


The Association of South East Asian Nations' (ASEAN) Ladies Circle in cooperation of the ASEAN Embassies organized a charity bazaar held at the Philippine Embassy Grounds on 02 May 2008.
Ms. Emelyn M. Cosino, Philippine Embassy’s Cultural Attaché, and presently the President
of ASEAN Ladies Circle oversaw the planning and holding of this event, which was last held in 2004.
ASEAN member countries with Embassies in Tehran namely Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, plus China, South Korea and UNWFP participated in the said bazaar.

The participating countries showcased native handicrafts and products including fashion accessories, home accessories, clothes and food.
Among the items on sale in the Philippine booth were pearl accessories, shell and capiz products, placemats, and pancit sotanghon and chicken adobo.
Diplomats from different Embassies, ASEAN communities, expats and Iranians attended the event.
Proceeds of the bazaar sale will be donated to charitable organization in Tehran. END
