Participates in QIAU's ASEAN Business and Culture Fair
 
The Philippine Embassy in
Tehran participated in the first ASEAN Business and Culture Fair of
the Qazvin Islamic Azad University (QIAU) from 16 November to 25
November 2009.
The ten-day event,
organized by the QIAU and its students, aimed to raise and improve
understanding of the Iranians especially the students on ASEAN
countries; their cultures, tourism potentials and business
opportunities.
Each of the ten member countries of ASEAN was given a
pavilion which featured its cultural and tourist attractions,
handicrafts and national costumes, and a special day to give an
overview of their respective countries and/or its relations with
Iran. The QUIA students and the Filipino Community in Qazvin
decorated the Philippine booth.
On 20
November, the designated Philippine Day, First Secretary and Consul
General Rosario P. Lemque, delivered remarks about the Philippines’
relations with Iran focusing on cooperation between the two
countries in the fields of business, tourism and culture. QIAU
students made a presentation on the history, tourism attractions and
economic situation of the Philippines.
QIAU,
represented by Dr. Marshojaei, Director General of the Presidency of
QIAU, led a business meeting between Philippine Embassy officials
and Mr. Salehpour of Ministry of Commerce in Qazvin to explore
possible trade cooperation between the Philippines and Iran
particularly in the province of Qazvin. |
