Search For Exemplary Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) 2011

The Philippine Embassy in Tehran wishes to inform all Filipinos in Iran that the Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. (BBFI), in cooperation with Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), is in search for outstanding and exemplary Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to be recognized during the 2011 Bagong Bayani Awards (BBA) scheduled to be held in December 2011 at the Malacanang Palace to be graced by the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

The BBFI is a non-stock, non-profit organization established in 1989 to promote recognition and appreciation of the role of OFWs in Philippine society and economy, foster high standards of responsibility, efficiency, and integrity among them, and to promote the welfare of our OFWs. The POEA and OWWA are members of the Board of Trustees.

The BBA is a major program of BBFI to pay tribute to the country's outstanding OFWs for their significant efforts in fostering goodwill among peoples of the world, enhancing the image of the Filipino as a competent and responsible worker and contributing to the nation's economic development. The first Award was held in 1984 and is now being held every two (2) years.
