Philippine Embassy Participates in Diplomatic Ladies Group
Charity Bazaar 2009
 
The
Diplomatic Ladies Group (DLG) in cooperation with the Diplomatic
Missions in Tehran organized a “Diplomatic Charity Bazaar” held at
the Egyptian Ambassador's Residence on 19 June 2009.
The DLG is
an association
of female diplomats
and spouses of diplomats/attaches of the diplomatic missions in
Tehran that aims to foster closer relationship and cultivate mutual
interest in socio-cultural aspects of life.
The event is one of
the annual activities of DLG, which aimed to raise funds for the
less fortunate people in Iran.
The Philippine Embassy,
along with the diplomatic missions in Tehran participated in the
well-attended bazaar.
The Philippine booth was
decorated and manned by the staff and family member of the Embassy, Mr. Luis Davantes, Ms. Lilian Tinio,
Ms. Emelyn Cosino, Ms. Bertilla Oblad, Ms. Sarah Hosseini, Mr.
Mohammad Rahmani, Mr. Abu Taleb Yaghoob, Ms. Mila Davantes and
some members of the Filipino Community, Ms. Lucille Mazo and Ms.
Nimfa Martinez.
The participating countries showcased
native handicrafts and products including fashion accessories, home
decors, clothes and food.
Among the items sold in
the Philippine booth were ladies accessories like pearls, shell and capiz products, bags, abaca placemats and table clothes. It also
gave away brochures and DVD/CDs about tourist destinations in the
Philippines.
Proceeds of the sale will
be donated to charitable organizations for disabled children and
cancer patients in Tehran. END
