Filipino Community in Iran Organizes Charity Bazaar for Typhoon
Victims
 
The
Pinay Irano Family Community (PIFC), one of the two associations in
Iran, organized a charity bazaar held at the Embassy Grounds on
Friday, 13 November 2009.
Members of the Filipino community as well as
some Iranian companies sold ladies accessories, home decors,
garments and food items during the bazaar. Gulf Air, which also
participated in the event, promoted their special offer trips from
Tehran to Manila.
Some 150 Filipinos and their Iranian friends
from Tehran, Karaj and Qazvin, attended the event, to support the
PIFC’s initiative.
Proceeds of the gate entrance and earnings in
the bingo games and karaoke sessions in the bazaar were donated by
the PIFC for the victims of the recent typhoons in the Philippines.
Saint Abraham Carollers also donated cash donations.
The PIFC and other members of the Filipino
community in Iran also donated medicines for the said victims.
