Ambassador
Senga Presents His Credentials
to the Government of
Turkmenistan

Philippine Ambassador to Iran H.E. Generoso S. Senga presented his
letter of credence to the Turkmenistan Speaker of Mejlis, Mrs.
Akdzha Nurberdyeva on 29 September 2009 in Asghabat.
In a simple
ceremony held at the Parliament, Mrs. Nurberdyeva underscored the
significance of the occasion in expanding the relations between the
two countries. Philippines and Turkmenistan established diplomatic
relations in 1993.
Mrs. Nurberdyeva
added that the Turkmenistan Parliament actively supports friendly
cooperation between Philippines and Turkmenistan.
Ambassador Senga,
for his part, thanked the Government of Turkmenistan for all the
support given to the Philippine Government in international fora and
affirmed the Philippine Government's desire for bilateral relations
of the two countries to grow and to be mutually beneficial for the
people of their countries.
During the
presentation of his credentials in Asghabat, Ambassador Senga also
met the Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rasit Meredow.
Turkmenistan
President Berdimuhamedov, in his congratulatory letter to Ambassador
Senga after his presentation of credentials, said that friendship
between Philippines and Turkmenistan is stable and with great
potential for strengthening and further development. He added that
as a newly independent state, Turkmenistan aims to be integrated into the world
community by establishing relations with many countries on the basis
of equality and mutual understanding.
